The most common excuses of obese people remaining fat 04.05.2007
- "I detest sport and exercise "
Physicians recommend spending at least half an hour a day on exercises. Many people begin to follow this recommendation, but as the time passes they fail to obey. Try to replace the necessary exercises by some incidental physical activities. Prefer stairs to elevator and walking by feet to taking a taxi.
- "I’m very busy and I have no time to eat healthy". This statement arouses a question: do you have time to be sick? Caring about your body is not a waste of time, so be sure to find an adequate time for breakfast.
- "I can’t deny myself chocolate and ice-cream!" Mind that as soon as you begin to mark some food as ‘bad’ or ‘forbidden’, taking this meal makes you feel guilty. Try to substitute fat dishes with something with the same flavor, but less calorie-dense.
- "I hate cooking". You don’t have to be a chef to prepare healthy food. Many stores provide frozen meals and ready-made salads. Consider buying prepared healthy food rather than eating your regular hamburger.
- "I lack family and friends’ support". It may be necessary to tell your mates and relatives what you are trying to achieve. This is extremely important on family celebrations where rich food is on the agenda.
- "I eat or chew snacks continuously". Interestingly enough, it quite possible to become slender while eating out a lot. The only thing you must be aware of is a proper selection of food.
- Throw away your favorite chips, pop-corn, fried rice and wedges. Order vegetables or salad instead.
- Take a medium or small portion.
- Forget about entrees which are always incredibly fat.
- Drink a good amount of water with the meal.
- When it comes to a main dish, prefer fish to chicken and chicken to red meat. Your dish must be either poached or grilled.
- "I have to prepare food for my family". You are quite right, it’s rather complicated task to cook diet meals for one family-member and fatty meals to the others. Instead of this try to alter the whole family ration to a more healthy one. Replace a beef with skinless chicken, and large portions of starchy carbohydrates – with vegetables.
