More than 60% of all United States adults are overweight or obese. You will find that more and more people are trying to lose the weight. It’s hard to lose the weight, because many people will gain the weight back after they have dropped pounds and succeeded at losing some weight.
The National Weight Control Registry is trying to collect data on people who want to lose weight, but also learn to keep the weight off for good. They have evaluated information from over 3,000 people with an average of a 60 pound weight loss, but also they have managed to keep the weight off an average of six years.
There are four specific behaviors that most of the 3,000 people had in common.
First, they ate low-fat, low-carb foods. They watched their weight on a regular basis by monitoring their weight on the scale. They all were very active and exercised plenty. They were also able to control to lose the weight and eat breakfast. After six years, they control to use a low fat diet, but they also continued to workout or exercise at least an hour or two every day.
